Pixmore Junior School Sports Premium Plan 2017-18

How we plan to use our Sports Premium money at Pixmore Junior School? How can we measure the impact?
Adding new sports equipment for new clubs and curriculum sports such as table tennis, tri golf, roundres and basketballs. Offering new lunch time clubs and adding new curriculum sports to children, which allows more children to come to clubs and helps school sports teams.
Upgrade and improve schools orienteering equipment – new maps, lesson plans, games/activities and orienteering app.   Keeping children active and engaged in orienteering lessons. Upgrading cross curriculum links such as ICT using an orienteering app. Improved forest school lesson ideas by having a wider range of activities to offer.
Employ a Sports Assistant to help run afterschool clubs and breakfast clubs. This allows the school to offer a morning sports club five days a week which helps parents with work commitments and gives the school opportunity to target children that need more support in the mornings.

Membership to the North Herts Sports Partnership (NHSSP)

Provides subject leader support, CPD, practical activity, competition for children, sporting opportunity to join club.
Budget for transport to and from sporting events that are in school time and have a large number to children taken part. More children attending and enjoying the different events in and around Hertfordshire.
Subsidise club payments from parents so more children can access clubs  The increase in club numbers in the subsidised clubs and returning children in different terms.
Host new competitions at Pixmore to raise awareness of the school in the community and award children for participating.    Increased numbers of children representing the school

Allocating this money in the above ways will have a big impact on our children at Pixmore Junior School allowing them to access a wider range of curricular and extra-curricular sports. This will encourage children to take up different sports within the school and in our local community. Promoting sport is very important to our school as it has a positive effect on healthy lifestyle of the children. We do this in a variety of ways; extra clubs before school, at lunchtime, afterschool, having sports weeks and taking part in school sporting events and having a high expectation level in P.E lessons. All children have the opportunity to be active at break and lunch times by up-skilling a Lunch Time Supervisor to lead games and giving them different equipment to use at lunch times.
