Curriculum
We strive to ensure that our curriculum teaches pupils to have high expectations of themselves and to be inquisitive, conscientious, creative and responsible citizens; the ambition being for all of our pupils to achieve their potential regardless of their backgrounds or starting points.
We ensure that our curriculum provides a wide variety of opportunities for our children to engage in fun, creative activities as well as challenging them to investigate, explore and problem solve; think analytically and master skills; achieve high standards and have ownership and choices within their learning.
We want our pupils to participate in activities which they will remember, creating positive and enjoyable memories of their time at Pixmore. We ensure that all children are given the chance to experience new settings and learn new skills, represent the school in sporting activities and musical performances, take part in workshops and trips, thus giving them access to the cultural capital that they may not have access to at home.
Pixmore Learning Powers
Across all subjects in our curriculum, we teach children the skills they need to have a growth mindset and be successful learners. The skills required were developed in collaboration with pupils and split into three main areas: resilience, resourcefulness and reactiveness. This September, we held a competition for pupils to design new learning hero characters to reflect each area and we are pleased to present the winning designs.
